The Competition Process

O2 Ability Awards 2010

Stage 1: September 2009
Organisations register to participate in the O2 Ability Awards 2010 online.

Stage 2: September –  6th of November 2009
Registered organisations complete a detailed application form online.

Stage 3: November 2009
Independent disability management consultants assess the eligibility of each organisation. The thirty best practice organisations are selected to go through to the next round.

Stage 4: December 2009 – February 2010
These thirty organisations each receive a FREE full day, on-site assessment.
Following the site visit, an assessment report of the organisation is completed.

Stage 5: March 2010
The preliminary judging panel select organisations that demonstrate the highest level of best practice in each of the following categories:

  • Leadership
  • Environmental Accessibility
  • Customer Service
  • Recruitment and Selection
  • Learning, Development and Progression
  • Retention and Well Being

Stage 6: March 2010
The final judging panel selects the overall winner in the private sector, the overall winner in the non-private sector and the small company winner.

Stage 7: May 2010
The O2 Ability Awards 2010 Category and Overall Winners are announced during an O2 Ability Awards presentation.

Stage 8: August 2010
Feedback and guidance on areas for improvement is provided to participating organisations.
